We exist to display the goodness and peace of God in the city.

Our Vision

We exist to display the goodness and peace of God  in our city. We seek to improve our city by proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ, loving our neighbors as ourselves, and joining God in His mission to renew all things.

Our hope is to see our city transformed through a network of neighborhood-based faith communities united by our vision for the city, our preaching, and our senior leadership. Through this model we seek to see New York City transformed through the power of the gospel.

Core Values

Everything that we do hinges on the gospel; the good news that through Christ the power of God’s kingdom came to renew the whole world. Jesus' sacrifice restored fellowship with father and granted us access to the power of salvation. When we believe and rely on Jesus’ work and record (rather than ours) for our relationship to God, that kingdom power comes upon us and begins to work through us. From the gospel flows all our core values listed below.

We believe that the gospel not only saves us from our sins, but also transforms us into something new altogether. Through faith in Jesus we become “new creations” that are no longer on a mission of self-salvation through money, relationships, sex, and power. Instead the gospel moves us out of ourselves and into the world to become ministers of reconciliation. As believers we can now rest in Jesus’ salvation of us, and therefore are empowered to count others as more significant than ourselves. (2 Cor. 5:17-20; Phil. 2:3)

The gospel creates a new family; the family of God. At CCF we believe the church is a community of brothers and sisters in Christ, that have one common Father in God. Focusing on the ultimate thing that unites us, Jesus, and not the things that divide us, we value unity and embrace diversity in the family of God (Jn. 1:12; 1 Jn. 3:1-2; Gal. 6:10; Eph. 2:19-22).

“Everybody can be great...because anybody can serve.” - Martin Luther King Jr.

Jesus says, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself” (Mrk. 12:31) As a church family, we are committed to sacrificially serving our neighbors whether they believe as we do or not. We want to live genuine and sincere lives marked by service and sacrifice toward each other and our immediate and global context.

The gospel not only saves and renew us; it moves us. We are compelled to be change agents for our city and ultimately the world. As agents of change, we are ambassadors for the cause of Christ in our city. At CCF, we firmly believe that God has placed us here to be living, breathing, walking testimonies of God's goodness and peace in order to bring about renewal.

God desires to renew all things by revealing His goodness and peace, ultimately found in His son, Jesus. As His church, we are called to live in a reconciliatory way so that those who do not share our faith can say, “Let us go with you, for we have heard that God is with you.”
