Bread Trail: The Temptation

Bread Trail, the journey to Resurrection Sunday. For the next few weeks we will be looking at Jesus as the bread of life and His life leading up to his death and resurrection.

This week, Cellus Hamilton shares his thoughts and reflections on Sunday's message.

Temptation has long been the elephant in the room we have managed to minimize into a dust pile and sweep under the rug. Rarely is temptation studied in view of scripture and rarely has temptation been championed as the stepping stone for every Christ follower...until now.

Rarely is temptation studied in view of scripture and rarely has temptation been championed as the stepping stone for every Christ follower...until now.

In Sunday's sermon, Ruben Ramirez continued our Bread Trail series by giving us a kingdom view of temptation, where it comes from, and how to overcome it just as Jesus did.

As Ruben outlined from the beginning, it is not God who tempts us but that when we are in temptation it is the gracious Lord who provides us a way of escape.

...there is only one way we can overcome temptation...which is to be like Jesus and align our hearts with the father.

With examples ranging from Joseph, Jesus, and even Ruben's own personal testimony with his co-workers, Ruben highlights that there is only one way we can overcome temptation...which is to be like Jesus and align our hearts with the father.
